Yesterday, you saw something flying on the streets making weird flying noises and thought what kind of a weird bird that is?
But then you got envious of your friend who was flying that drone and now want a cheap drone for yourself too? Worry not, we have got you covered.
But before we get into buying a drone in India, we need to understand what kinds of drones are available in market and what are the rules and regulations of flying them,
Three categories of drones:
- Nano category drones – Less than 250 grams.
- Micro category drones – 250 grams to 2 kg
- Small drones – 2kg to 25kg
Now, technically to fly a drone in India, you need a license except in the case of nano drones category.
Yes, that’s correct, you can fly a nano drone in India without any flying licenses or permissions.
So, what are the drone companies that offer nano drones?
Well, I know of only one that supplies products to India and is the most popular in the drone world – DJI!
They have a product offering called DJI Mavic Mini which comes with 4K recording, up to 30 minutes flight time, 3-axis gimbal to keep your footage stable and costs around Rs.50,000 in India depending upon where you buy it from but is sold for probably the cheapest on Amazon.
But mind you, they’re not always available so you will have to keep an eye and grab it as quickly as you can before it runs out of stock. it weighs 249 grams keeping you safe right under the radar!
That’s for the big boy toys but if you’re just getting started in the drone journey and need a cheaper alternative, we have a drone under Rs.10,000 in India too.
By the same brand, it’s called DJI Tello and costs just around Rs.13,000 for beginners with a 720p camera, has a 360 degrees spinning function to showoff to your friends and fairly well battery life.
Which one did you like the most and is there any other drone you would like to talk about? Let us know in the comments below.
